Fittonias, also known as Nerve Plants or Mosaic Plants are tropical, grown almost exclusively for their flashy foliage. Most cultivars of F. albivenis are on the larger side, reaching a foot in height. However, our cultivars are considered "Mini" and only get about 3" high. This makes them excellent for terrariums and desktop planters. It should be noted that they are fairly finicky plants that wilt at the moment it's needs are not met, be it not enough water, light or humidity. This can be quickly rectified by addressing the root cause. That being said, the sure shot way to keep this plant in good spirits at all times is to keep it dense. Growing it in dense mounds or back to back with other like plants creates the humidity level it needs to thrive. As a rule of thumb, if you see exposed stems of this plant, rather than a blanket of leaves, it is going to need a lot of TLC. If you have exposed stems but no other plants to plant near it, put cork bark, rocks or even raise the soil level to help centralize the humidity.
